Blueprint Custom Furnishings

Hello
My name is Selina Scott and I own Blueprint Custom Furnishings.
I consider myself a fiber artist in many different mediums: knitting and crochet, embroidery, but most of all sewing. My sewing journey began in grade school, and I began sewing professionally in 2006.

After studying Interior Architecture at the University of Oregon and taking upholstery classes at PCC, a chance job posting brought together everything I was looking for: a sewing position for a local workroom. Nancy Gilpin, owner of Nip & Tuck in Portland, OR, taught me everything I know and I owe her all my gratitude for taking a chance on me. My very first project was a lumbar pillow with fringe trim. I can't remember how many needles I broke, but it was a lot! Over the seven years I worked for her I learned how to make it all: pillows, cushions, bedding, drapes and swags, roman shades, slipcovers and more. I discovered that the precision and detail oriented nature of custom sewing suited me perfectly. And it's beyond gratifying to bring a customer's design vision to life!

For the past decade I have been a stay at home parent, keeping up with sewing and upholstery on the side. My business should have started in 2020, but we all know what happened. The pandemic gave me a bit more time to refine my offerings, further my education and launch my business in 2022.

I look forward to working with you!
